It starts with people.

A leader once saw potential in me before I saw it in myself. I’ve been trying to pass that feeling on ever since.

I’m currently an OpenAI Campus Lead!

I’ll be hosting weekly community build hours, alongside workshops most weeks. A chance to rethink how we work, automate the tedious bits, and make something useful together.

At the end of each semester, we’ll choose five students to share what they’ve built. I already know of people with insane use cases of LLMs. I can’t wait for my perspective and philosophy of AI to be repeatedly challenged.

Most of all, I’m just really excited to build a community. This time, I’m in charge. This time, completely from scratch. Very much like an influencer slowly gaining views, one at a time.

AWS Database Officer

Cambridge University Malaysia and Singapore Association

I gained loads of real-world experience here: Next.js, TypeScript, web development, AWS Lambda, and DynamoDB. Properly full stack.

I’m always looking for processes I can automate. There’s usually something that could run a little more smoothly.

More about the software work.

One of the biggest chapters of my life. It taught me to think in systems, but also how much a community can change someone.

At first, I treated CCA time as homework club. Then the president came over and told me he saw potential in me. He wanted me on the executive committee. It was such a sincere gesture that it gave me the courage to come out of my shell.

As an Exco member, I taught the incoming freshers. An uncontrollable bunch, and so much fun. I kept trying different ways to teach, figuring out what made them curious and what actually held their attention. It left me pretty confident I could get almost any kid interested.

As president, I wanted to build a community. More teamwork, a little friendly rivalry. I’d never seen everyone compete quite so enthusiastically.

But the part I still hold closest came two years after I graduated: students I’d taught went on to represent Singapore internationally. There’s something lovely about seeing a small beginning grow beyond you.
